USAID Webinar Series: Promoting Gender Equity through Finance
On February 24, Sophie participated in the MF4D webinar focusing on Gender Lens Investing. She joined two co-panelists, Rachel Murphy from Deetken Impact and William Trigg from USAID - ASEAN Mission, along with members of USAID's Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment team. The three panelists shared insights on different projects they worked on — with the support of USAID — from a Gender Lens toolkit with credit unions in Senegal (Sophie, USAID-INVEST with WOCCU and Pamecas), to a suite of tools for impact investors (Rachel, Deetken Impact) and finally a gender bond on the Singapore Exchange (Will, USAID/ASEAN). While we all recognize that we are working on different forms of debt, we can feel the interest for equity percolating and becoming the next frontier in Gender Investments.
